YOGA IN BOLD
YOGA FOR EVERY SIZE AND ABILITY
Join our yoga community! Explore a variety of yoga classes to suit every size and ability. Included on a rotating schedule are Slow Flow, Hatha, and yin/restorative yoga classes in which all are welcome, as well as a class specifically designed for people with bigger bodies for community practice. For most classes, no previous yoga experience is required.
Note: In-person classes are limited in size and have a “masks until on mats” policy. Register early to reserve your socially-distanced spot.
Join Susan for a four-week public series exploring the strengths and possibilities of a yoga practice for people with bigger bodies. Move through backbends, forward folds, and twists with the bigger body in mind, and learn to address the cultural politics of fat in empowering, body-positive ways. People of all levels and abilities are welcome; no previous yoga experience is required. This workshop also serves as an introduction for yoga teachers to make their practices more inclusive.
This workshop is open to both students and teachers of yoga. CE credits for teachers are available through Yoga Alliance.
In this 20-hour training, we explore the anatomy of bigger bodies and experience accessible asana instruction for all abilities, including flow, Hatha, yin, and chair-based yoga practices. We also dismantle the cultural politics of fat, discuss the Health at Every Size ® and body-positive / acceptance / liberation movements, and engage in yoga practices specifically designed for people with bigger bodies. Yoga teachers will gain insight and understanding about inclusive language and how to make their classes accessible to and empowering for students of all sizes and abilities.
This training is open to yoga students with at least one year of practice and teachers who have received their 200-hour certification. CE credits for yoga teachers are available through Yoga Alliance.
